The United Kingdom Society for Trenchless Technology (UKSTT)has elected Dawn Grieg as its first female chair.
Current Picote Solutions Global Creative and Business Director DawnGreig has made history with her election to UKSTT Chair for a two-year term.
With a background in senior management, Ms Greig has more than 10years in the trenchless sector through her association with Picote,working closely with the company’s research, development and
production teams.
Ms Greig said that she is extremely proud to be elected to this role,having been on the council board for several years and serving as ViceChair to Mathew Izzard for the past two years.
“The UKSTT has established itself as the ‘go to’ organisation for the UKtrenchless sector,” said Ms Grieg.
“We still have so much to do and to achieve in terms of gettingtrenchless technology recognised for the advantages it offers, despitemany of the technologies now being seen as the preferred option when
it comes to pipe work installation, maintenance and repair.”
“Our aim is to continue growing the industry by bringing thesetechniques to the attention of our current working professionals andeducators alike to influence the next generation of engineers.”
Two other affiliate member organisations of the ISTT have previouslyappointed female Chairs; Gerda Held was elected Chair of the DanishSociety for Trenchless Technology and Kim Staheli to the North American Society for Trenchless Technology.
