Previous Review - 2017

The 2017 China International Trenchless Technology Conference & Exhibition was held from April 14th to 16th 2017 at Suzhou International Expo Center. There were 2321 guests from 25 provinces and autonomous region in China and other 10 countries and regions registered for this conference, 4575 people came to the exhibition during these three days. Honored guests such as professor Yan Chunwen, Vice chairman of China Society of Trenchless Technology, Professor Kusuta Tetsuya, vice chairman of Japan Society of Trenchless Technology, Mr. Cheng Kim Hua, adviser of Malaysia trenchless Tunnelling Technology Association, Mrs. Sun minmin, vice chairman of  Singapore  Society of Trenchless Technology of International cooperation and training department, Mrs. Chu Bo, expert of China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization, Professor Li Xuejun, Director of Committee of Underground Pipeline of China Association of City Planning, Mr. Zhang Zhonghai, vice-general manager of  XCMG Foundation presented at the opening ceremony and did the ribbon cutting.

During this conference, Mr. Yan Chunwen, Vice chairman of China Society of Trenchless Technology did a report named “Analysis on Market of Underground Pipeline Construction and Trenchless Technology”, Professor Kusuta Tetsuya, vice chairman of Japan Society of Trenchless Technology gave a report named “Recent development of Trenchless Technology”, Mrs. Chu Bo, expert of China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization did a report named “The Latest Development and the Key of Establishment of Standard System in China”, Professor Li Xuejun, Director of Committee of Underground Pipeline of China Association of City Planning did a report named “Thinking about Time-space Data Construction of Intelligent Network”, Dr. Huang Jian, R&D Center of Urban Underground Utility Tunnel, Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute (Group) Co.Ltd. did a report named “New Technical Progress of Urban Underground Utility Tunnel”.  All these key note speeches presented by such distinguished guests drew great attention from all representatives and led to heated discussions.

There were two seminars about “Keynote Speeches on Pipeline Renewal” and “Keynote Speeches of Pipeline Installation” respectively this year. The theme of this year’s seminars was the introduction of construction cases, during which the application of trenchless technologies in special conditions, extreme conditions and new products were introduced and discussed.

During the conference, there were also various themed technical workshops in which famous enterprises like Beijing Beipai Construction Co. Ltd., Beijing Longkexing Trenchless Engineering Co., Ltd., Shanghai GuanLi Environment Co., Ltd., TianjinYitong Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Huashi Pipeline Engineering Company, Hangzhou Changda Pipeline Engineering Co. Ltd., DW/TXS Construction Equipment (Beijing) Co.,Ltd., XCMG Foundation, Henan North China Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd., iangsu Dilong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd., Fujian Xin  Yong Tong Trenchless Engineering Technology Co,Ltd. and China University of Geosciences and Chengdu University of Technology made cases analysis and introduction about their technical advantages, products and construction experiences, covering aspects such as pipeline rehabilitation, pipe-jacking/micro tunneling, horizontal directional drilling and project risk control. All these enterprises did a lot of promotion in combination with their on-site exhibition and delivered an overall demonstration to our guests.

There were 64 enterprises brought their new products and technologies to this year’s exhibition, 15 (about 25% of all) of which were the first time here, and 80% enterprises brought dozens of real products to the exhibition. We did special decoration for all the raw spaces. We witness a further improvement in the performance, quality and appearance of the domestic equipment on this year’s exhibition. Many foreign equipment purchasers from India, Singapore, Korea, Germany, Malaysia, UK, Spain and  Albania came to the exhibition.

This year. We held a gala dinner party and granted the CSTT annual award, which were co-sponsored by XCMG Foundation；we presented “2016 Person of the Year of China Trenchless Industry” award to Mr. Wu Xiaoming, Professor of  China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), we also presented the “2016 Best Product of China Trenchless Industry / 2016 Best Project of China Trenchless Industry / 2016 Best Technology of China Trenchless Industry ” to Henan Zhongtuo Petroleum Engineering & Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Pro-Liner Pipeline Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Tianhuan Gas Co., Ltd., XCMG Foundation,  Ningbo Municipal Engineering  Construction Group Co., Ltd.

Before the conference officially started, we held the CSTT standing council meeting in the conference room of  Suzhou Jinji Lake International Conference Center, on which our secretary general Mr. Zhu Wenjian gave us the annual financial report and work summary of 2016, and the working plan for 2017. Council members did a comprehensive discussion after over the report, and carried out the secret ballot of the 2016 Person of the Year of China Trenchless Industry. In the meantime, we held an expert committee meeting in the conference room of Suzhou Jinji Lake International Conference Center and talked about the recent work plans of horizontal directional drilling, pipe jacking and pipeline rehabilitation respectively.
