China Society of Trenchless Technology
The 2018 China International Trenchless Technology Conference & Exhibition was held from April 11th to 13th 2018 at the Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. There were 1944 guests from 26 provinces and autonomous region in China and other 10 countries and regions attended this event, 3105 person-time visit the exhibition during these three days. Honored guests such as professor Yan Chunwen, Vice chairman of China Society of Trenchless Technology, Prof. Hideki Shimada, Japan Society of Trenchless Technology, Ms. Sun Minmin, Vice Chair. Singapore Society of Trenchless Technology, Mr. Cheng Kim Hua, Consultant of Malaysian Society for Trenchless and Tunneling Technology, Ms. Tan Langyu, Vice Chair of Henan province Association for Science & Technology, Mr. Jiang Huaye, Vice Director of International Communication Center of Road Research Institute of Ministry of Transport, PRC, Mr. Wu Jin, Vice Secretary-General of Pipeline Inspection & Rehabilitation Professional Committee of China Municipal Engineering Association, Mr. Song Qipo, Vice Chief-engineer of Beijing General Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., and Mr. Zhang Zhonghai, Vice GM of Xuzhou Xugong Foundation Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. presented at the opening ceremony and did the ribbon cutting.
During this conference, Mr. Yan Chunwen, Vice chairman of China Society of Trenchless Technology did a report named “The Report of Chinese Trechnless Industry in 2017”, Prof. Hideki Shimada, Japan Society of Trenchless Technology gave us a report called “Construction Technology in Rock and Gravel Condition by the Slurry Type Micro-tunneling Method in Japan”, Professor Hisham, Malaysian Society for Trenchless and Tunneling Technology did a report named “Tunnel Inspection & Trenchless Pipeline Construnction Technology in Malaysia”., Mr. Song Qipo, Vice Chief-engineer of Beijing General Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. did a report named “Design Principles & Construction Technology of Trenchless Municipal Pipelines”, Mr. Wu Jin, Vice Secretary-General of Pipeline Inspection & Rehabilitation Professional Committee of China Municipal Engineering Association did a report named “Applied Trenchless for Prevention and Cure of Water Pollution with Core Pipelines”, Mr. Wang Chuanzong, Engineer of R&D Center, Xuzhou Xugong Foundation Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. did a report named “Project Cases of Small Diameter Rock Pipe-jacking”. All these reports drew great interest and discussion from our guests.
There were three seminars about “horizontal directional drilling”, “pipe-jacking/micro tunneling” and “Pipeline rehabilitation” respectively this year. The theme of this year’s seminars was the introduction of construction cases, during which the application of trenchless technologies in special conditions, extreme conditions and new products were introduced and discussed. There were 68 enterprises brought their new products and technologies to this year’s exhibition,14 of which were the first time here, and 85% of exhibitors brought their real products to show. We witness a further improvement in the performance, quality and appearance of the domestic equipment on this year’s exhibition which attracted visitors from India, Singapore, Germany, Malaysia, Japan, Russia, France, Canada, and etc.
This year, we had gala dinner party jointly supported by Henan Zhongtuo Petroleum Engineering Technology Co., Ltd and Henan North China Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd. and also granted the CSTT annual award, on which we presented an honor certificate to Mr. Kong Qinghua, GM of Xuzhou Xugong Foundation Construction Machinery Co., Ltd., who was selected as “2017 Person of the Year of China Trenchless Industry”; we also presented the “2017 Product/Technology of the Year of China Trenchless Industry”. “2017 Project of the Year of China Trenchless Industry”, and “2017 Project of the Year of China Trenchless Industry” to Zhejiang Communications Construction Group Co., Ltd., Fujiang Province Xin Yong Tong Trenchless Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., Henan Zhongtuo Petroleum Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Tianhuan Gas Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Huashi Pipeline Engineering Co. Ltd.,4th Branch of China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co. Ltd., Xuzhou Xugong Foundation Construction Machinery Co. Ltd., Beijing Puluolan Pipeline Technology Co. Before the conference officially started, we held the CSTT board meeting in the conference room of Zhengzhou International Convention & Exhibition Center, on which our secretary general Mr. Zhu Wenjian gave us the annual financial report of 2017, and the working plan for 2018. We also held three parallel expert committee meetings on horizontal directional drilling, pipe jacking and pipeline rehabilitation respectively. During these meetings, the experts discuss the work arrangement for the three fields.
