Herrenknecht receives Chancellor approval

The German Federal ChancThe German Federal Chancellor, Angela Merkel, has expressed her interest in Herrenknecht’s trenchless technologies.

Last week, German Chancellor Angela Merkel paid a visit to the Herrenknecht AG Headquarter in Schwanau, Germany.

On the tour, company founder and Chair of the Board of Management Martin Herrenknecht showed the Chancellor the tunnelling technology that has been developed and manufactured by Herrenknecht for challenging projects.
During the visit, Chancellor Merkel expressed her interest in the small diameter trenchless drilling technologies that Herrenknecht offers,including the E-Power Pipe® and Direct Pipe®.

The E-Power Pipe® is a new method from Herrenknecht that canquickly and securely install small-diameter cable protection pipes underground with drive lengths of more than a kilometre.

Combining microtunnelling and HDD technology The Direct Pipe® solution combines the advantages of to install a prefabricated pipeline and the required borehole excavation simultaneously.

These trenchless technologies are required for the installation of underground cables, pipelines and other utilities for a fast and successful energy transition.
