The 2013 China International Trenchless Technology Conference & Exhibition was held from April 19th to 21st 2013 at the Suzhou International Expo Center. There were 975 guests from 25 provinces and autonomous region in China and other 9 countries and regions registered for this conference, 3147 people came to the exhibition during these three days. Honored guests such as professor Yan Chunwen, Vice chairman of China Society of Trenchless Technology, professor Samuel Ariaratnam from International Society of Trenchless Technology, Mr. Derek Choi, vice president of International Society of Trenchless Technology, Mr. MohdSyazwan, president of Malaysia Society of Trenchless Technology, Mr. Dennis Kong, president of Singapore Society of Trenchless Technology, Professor Kusuta Tetsuya, vice chairman of Japan Society of Trenchless Technology, Mr. Liu Wenyun, counselor of Department of International Cooperation of MOST, the Chinese embassy in Canada, Miss Sun Lei, Executive Vice-President of Suzhou Chamber of Import & Export Commerce, Mr. Zhou Jianhua, Direcotr of Building Administration Office of Suzhou Transportation Bureau, Mr. Jiang Xianhua, Director of the information center of Research Institute of Highway, Ministry of Transport, and Mr. Chen Fenggang, General Manager of Shanghai Goodeng Construction Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. presented at the opening ceremony and did the ribbon cutting.

During this conference, Mr. Yan Chunwen, Vice chairman of China Society of Trenchless Technology did a report named "The Report of Chinese Trechnless Industry in 2012", professor Samuel Ariaratnam from International Society of Trenchless Technology gave us a report called "The status of global horizontal directional drilling pipe construction", and Mr. MohdSyazwan, president of Malaysia Society of Trenchless Technology did a report named "Transformation of construction in underground space for Malaysia in 21 century". All these three reports drew great interest and discussion from our guests.

There was a special seminar about the underground pipe net construction of Suzhou Industrial Park and Trenchless Construction Technology, in which a deep discussion was conducted about the application and challenges of trenchless technology in Suzhou with combination of the development needs of Suzhou. Tao Hong, chief engineer of Suzhou Industrial Park Surveying Mapping and Geoinformation Co., Ltd. in Suzhou Industrial Park, Mr. Dennis Kong, president of Singapore Society of Trenchless Technology, and other engineering and construction personnel as well as conference guests gathered together at this seminar and communicated and discussed about the development trend of the underground pipe net of Suzhou Industrial Park and the promotion of trenchless technology. In addition, we also held a session for the introduction of the development of trenchless industry in the four major regions in China, Professor Zhu Wenjian, secretary-general of CSTT did a report named the problems of Chinese trenchless industry and their solutions. Secretary-generals from the Societies in Beijing, Shanghai and Fujian also made an introduction about the development and recent work in their region respectively, and they had a private communication after the session.

During the conference, Shanghai Goodeng Construction Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd and Lianyungang Huanghai Machinery Co., Ltd. held a new product launch conference respectively, and achieved great promotion effect. There were also various themed technical workshops in which famous university like China University of Geosciences and enterprises like Fujian Province Xinyongtong Trenchless Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. Yangzhou Guangxin Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. Beijing Tianhuan Trenchless Engineering Co., Ltd., Beijing No.2 Municipal Construction Engineering Ltd. Pipe-Jacking Branch made cases analysis and introduction about their technical advantages, products and construction experiences, covering aspects such as pipeline rehabilitation, application of new materials, construction cases with drilling machine and project risk control. All these enterprises and university did a lot of promotion in combination with their on-site exhibition and delivered an overall demonstration to our guests. After the conference, our secretary-general Zhu Wenjian paid a visit to the research and production base of Yangzhou Guangxin Heavy Industry Co., Ltd..

There were 50 enterprises brought their new products and technologies to this year's exhibition, 5 of which were the first time here, and 32 enterprises brought real products to the exhibition. We did special decoration for all the raw spaces. We witness a further improvement in the performance, quality and appearance of the domestic equipment on this year's exhibition, among which the CSTT2012 best trenchless equipment award winner,the DDW-2000 horizontal directional drilling machine produced by DW/TXS Construction Equipment(Beijing) Co., Ltd. had already been selling in America. Many foreign equipment purchaser from America, Britain, Russia, India, Singapore, Korea and Bangladesh came to the exhibition. During the 3-day exhibition, more than 90% of the exhibitors reached purchase or sale agreement, many of the equipment or exhibits were purchased right on site, enterprises all had fruitful experience.

2013 is the 17th birthday for ITTC. This year, we had a "XCMG Night" gala dinner party also granted the CSTT annual award, on which we presented an honor certificate to Mr. Jiang Zhiguang, GM of Jiangsu Dilong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd., who was also selected as "2012 Person of the Year of China Trenchless Industry"��we also presented the "2012 Best Product and Technology of China Trenchless Industry" to DW/TXS Construction Equipment(Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Fujian Province Xinyongtong Trenchless Construction Engineering Co., Ltd..

Before the conference officially started, we held the CSTT standing council meeting in the conference room of Suzhou International Expo Center, on which our secretary general Mr. Zhu Wenjian gave us the annual financial report of 2012, and the working plan for 2013. Council members did a comprehensive discussion after over the report, and carried out the secret ballot of the 2012 Person of the Year of China Trenchless Industry. We also held a expert committee meeting in the conference room of Suzhou International Expo Center and established three expert teams for horizontal directional drilling, pipe jacking and pipeline rehabilitation respectively, who are prepared for our industry standardization work. We held the 2nd Training Class for Pipe Jacking Technology and the 11th Training Class for Horizontal Directional Drilling Technology at Warmly Hotel (Suzhou Industrial Park Central Business District), during which our students had systematic classes and paid a visit to our exhibition site to see the latest RASA pipe jacking machine imported from Japan and demonstrated by Shanghai Kanekura Machinery Engineering Co., Ltd..
